nothing like a good dinner to finish and start things with

Lex thought she could make a difference if she was there when Jonah met his Mom. As if was, Noah and Josie had out done themselves to make a little dinner party.

They had the works. Noah had purchased a turkey, baked it. Made all the trimmings. It was like a long lost Thanksgiving dinner.

"And I made the rolls." Josie said it was a secret recipe she knew from where she worked at the diner, months ago. Naturally, she was glowing, practically. Just so happy to have that baby bump of hers.

Lex didn't want to admit it, but she envied them bother. Jonah was no chef, and her mother wasn't all that kind to him. It wasn't exactly a honeymoon at her place. Alright, she had Jonah to herself, plenty. And of course, you needed time to get to know someone. But there just was never enough time.

But here they were now. And Lex wished she'd brought a present of some kind. At least it didn't give a moment for their mother to be angry with Jonah. She was happy to have them all there. And they were happy to see her too.

At least, Jonah didn't have to explain himself much. It was all so sweet. Like a Christmas card without the tree. Or a Valentines day without all the sickening hearts and flowers and crap. Really, it was a lovely time. Lex took photos with her digital camera of Noah and Jonah with their Mom and of this pair and that pair and Josie even took a couple of Lex and Jonah.

"What are you gonna do with all these pictures?" Josie wanted to know.

"A scrapbook." It was the least she could do.

"Lex, when have you ever scrapbooked?" Noah looked at her funny.

"Never." She gave him a light smile. "Not until now." She pressed a smile more then. "We're a family, you know, and, and we should do what families do. Scrapbook." She nodded.

"Oh, I can't wait! Can I  help?" Josie looked to Lex. "You always felt like a sister to me. I never had one before, you know."

"Yeah, like sisters." Lex sighed as she looked to Noah and Jonah. They were really good brothers to each other. Now weren't they?"

Sounds like a good time for all of them. Glad they are together.
